Spring Wedding at the Jewel Box in St. Louis, Missouri
Anybody who knows Bess and Brian know that they enjoy a good prank, whether they are the ones setting it up or on the receiving end. Brian once drove two hours from St. Louis, Missouri to Columbia, Missouri just to walk into his friend’s home, who was seated in a recliner at the time, and throw a pie in his face. After the seconds-long encounter, Brian turned around, walked out and drove the distance back to St. Louis. Mission accomplished. So it only seemed fitting that the two would plan their beautiful St. Louis wedding on April Fools.
The sun was out and the weather was perfect for this St. Louis wedding in the spring. The Jewel Box in Forest Park was the beautiful venue, a greenhouse with glass from floor to ceiling allowing ample amount of natural light with a natural backdrop. A dream location to photograph. Being located in the center of Forest Park also meant having perfect access to charming locations for formal portraits of the wedding party along with more intimate settings for just Bess and Brian.
Over the years, Bess and Brian have surrounded themselves with creative and fun people, the same people who helped put together the wedding. From the beautiful spring flowers for the bride and bridesmaids to the wedding officiant, from the live music and DJ to the bartenders, the wedding was a huge success with the help of their friends, just as they hoped.
A surprise performance by a gang of kazoo players coordinated by Bess set the night into motion with songs and dancing. Only to be matched by a Hooten Holler serenade for Brian ending in revenge years-long in the waiting, more sweet than the pie that ended up in Brian’s face.
